SPACs Require Smart IR+PR Strategists

Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs) offer an alternative path to going public, but have significant pros and cons for any private company to consider.

While we’ve supported many sponsors through their de-SPAC (or acquisition phase) process, the majority of our work is centered on deal day and beyond.

Having a seasoned and experienced IR partner that will provide you senior support is critical, given how accelerated the process can be for private companies with underdeveloped communication teams.

Alpha brings the right experience and strategic know-how to help you navigate this critical process both pre- and post-merger.

“We were referred to the Alpha team during a time of significant change. Being a public company CFO for many years, I've worked with several other crisis/IR firms in the past. The Alpha team proved to be highly capable and experienced, providing the range of capability needed to guide us through unique challenges beyond traditional IR execution. While we had to confront numerous crisis situations that resulted in a significant strategy shift, the Alpha team repositioned our corporate messaging and materials, and provided strong strategic counsel through the eventual sale of our business. Alpha was a great solution for us."

Alpha’s De-SPAC Process Ensures Success

Alpha’s integrated IR and PR teams interact with SPACs at all stages of the deal process and we have multiple decades of experience advising these unique entities. SPAC sponsors and their acquired companies face many of the same challenges as larger, more established public companies, but on a tighter schedule and with less liquidity and visibility in the marketplace. Further, these structures necessitate two sets of messages: one for the investors who support the initial transaction, and one for the post-transaction operating company – again, in a shorter time frame and with limited internal resources. With this in mind, Alpha created a tailored, integrated communications process to help both the sponsors of SPACs, and the acquired companies as they navigate the de-SPAC process and prepare for life as a public company.
