Alpha IR Talent, a subsidiary of Alpha IR Group, has been retained by Slate Auto, a fast-paced EV startup headquartered in metro Michigan, to identify a highly strategic, analytical, and relationship-driven Director, Investor Relations & Corporate Development.

As the company enters its next phase of growth, this individual will play a critical role in fundraising initiatives, strategic partnerships, investor engagement, and cross-functional corporate initiatives that support Slate’s long-term business objectives. Working closely with executive leadership, Board members, investors, advisors, and operating teams, the successful candidate will help drive strategic decision-making, support capital raising activities, strengthen investor engagement, and help position the company for its next stage of growth, including public company readiness.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Corporate Development & Strategic Initiatives

  • Partner with executive leadership to evaluate and execute strategic growth initiatives and partnership opportunities across the automotive, EV, mobility, manufacturing, and technology ecosystem.
  • Support corporate strategy through market research, competitive analysis, industry benchmarking, and strategic business assessments.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives that improve organizational alignment and support long-term business objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, helping identify strategic risks, priorities, and growth opportunities.

Fundraising & Investor Relations

  • Lead investor relations activities and serve as a primary interface with current and prospective investors, financial institutions, strategic partners, advisors, and transaction teams.
  • Support equity and debt fundraising initiatives, including investor outreach, financial analysis, due diligence coordination, data room management, presentation development, and transaction execution.
  • Develop executive-level materials including investor presentations, Board materials, strategic analyses, business updates, and partnership proposals.
  • Coordinate diligence activities across fundraising and strategic transactions while ensuring timely, accurate delivery of information.
  • Lead activities supporting the company’s public company readiness initiatives.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution

  • Collaborate across finance, operations, engineering, legal, supply chain, and executive leadership to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Manage multiple high-impact workstreams simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
